Magick KISS Style - Who am I?

I know that you are already rolling your eyes – this is going to be a “touchy-feely” essay on knowing your authentic self.   Well you can bite me – because I am anything but ‘touchy – feely’!!!  Let me tell you about myself in Readers’ Digest format:

I am a 30 something female who has an attitude.  I like what I like, and abhor what I don’t.  If you are a friend, you are one until the end, or you do something disloyal in my eyes.  If you are not a friend, I will not waste my time pretending that you are, but I will be as courteous as the situation at hand allows.  I am sarcastic and chatty, but there are those times that I just want the world to LEAVE ME ALONE!  I have a wide range of interests – crafts, writing, design, music, sports, and many more that I will not list (it would take too long.)

I am the eldest child in a family of three daughters – and was designated the “peacemaker,” and that role sometimes still pops up here and there.  However, I found that sometimes I confused being the peacemaker with being a doormat, and it took the death of someone very dear to me, to realize that.  I began speaking my mind, seeking to fulfill my wants, and it was a shock to those I knew.  Some applaud the change others shake their heads and try to figure out what happened.  It doesn’t matter either way; the trip is mine and I am holding the ticket.

That’s it – me in a nutshell.  If you already knew me before reading this, then you know the details that I didn’t list, but they aren’t necessary to get a sense of who I am from the brief statement above.  It took me over thirty years to be able to formulate that personality, and it involved a lot of hard work, deep and unforgiving searching of self, and making peace with those areas of myself that I refused to change (because I thought that I was just fine in those areas!)

You may have to take a similar traipse through your life to figure out who you are, but then again, maybe you aren’t as hard-headed as I am, and will catch on more quickly – the choice is yours.  What needs to occur is a no-hold-barred, pick-me-apart like the Thanksgiving turkey journey, so you can see ALL of you – what you consider acceptable as well as not acceptable.  It’s only then that you can really decide who it is that you want to be ‘when you grow up.’

That’s the survey….might not make a ton of sense to you right now, but it gets your mind focused on thinking about YOU.  It is perfectly fine to think about what you want, like, dislike, etc., but most if us feel embarrassed to say that.  I have no idea why – aren’t you as important as the person next to you?  I think so!  I truly believe that you need to know who you are before you can have the highest level of success in whatever you attempt (doesn’t have to be magickal at all.)  So have some fun figuring out who you are!!!!
